The centenary celebration of Finland’s 100 years of national independence got a multicultural spice in the western city of Vaasa on Saturday, 9th of December, 2017.
As part of the preparations for marking the existential milestone of the Northern European country, the Prime Minister’s Office included the project “Cultural Food Exhibition” proposed by Nzuko-Ndigbo Vaasa ry, a multicultural organisation of Igbos living in Vaasa.
The “Cultural Food Exhibition” took place at the Vaasa City Cultural Centre on Saturday, 9th December, 2017.
The event was attended by residents of Vaasa and members of Nzuko-Ndigbo. Government officers and organisers of the Finland 100 Programme were also in attendance.
President of Nzuko Ndigbo Vaasa ry, Dr. Ethelbert Nwokorie presented the different international delicacies and Nigerian cuisines made by the organisation to delight attendees of the event.The menus of food exhibited include Egusi soup, egg sauce, fried fish, peppered meat, fried plantain, grilled chicken, buns, boiled yam, fried rice and cooked beans.
The occasion ended with positive feedbacks from attendees and the representatives of the Board of the ‘Finland 100 Years Project’ were happy they involved Nzuko Ndigbo, Vaasa in the 2017 Finland’s centenary celebration.
